Over time, volume is lost throughout the face. This leads to sagging, wrinkled skin which can add years to a person’s appearance. In the past, patients used more traditional fillers of gel-like material to replace the volume; however, the results are not long-lasting and require recurrent upkeep. Sculptra is a new and improved version of dermal fillers of the past. Sculptra corrects volume loss within the skin while also promoting collagen production within the dermis for results that last.
ABOUT SCULPTRA
Sculptra® Aesthetic works a little differently from other dermal fillers. This treatment is considered more of a volumizer than wrinkle filler. Sculptra® Aesthetic makes use of a different chemical called the poly-L-lactic acid, which helps to stimulate collagen production in the skin. Sculptra Treatments Without requiring surgery, this volume replacement is injected, and when mixed with your body’s own collagen, it fills the skin so that it “lifts” and gives the patient a more youthful appearance. The final result takes 2 months to be appreciated and more than one set of injections may be necessary. The full course of treatment with Sculptra® usually includes three sessions of injections that are administered over a period of a few months. The time between sessions allows for more natural results, and may last up to two years.
